The second annual Turner Valley School Helping Hands Food Drive saw students hand-deliver donations to the Oilfields Food Bank.

Kids at Turner Valley School in Diamond Valley got in the giving spirit during a special food drive this week.

Students formed a human chain to hand-deliver food donations collected for the Oilfields Food Bank, located across the street the school from the school, on Dec. 12.

Delivering food this way lets students lend a helping hand, said principal Debbie Payne.

They were outside for about 30 minutes, handing individual food items to each other in a long chain that began at the school's front entrance and wound its way up and across Royal Avenue, before finally ending at the doors of the food bank.

It was the second annual Turner Valley School Helping Hands Food Drive.
