Diamond Valley Mayor Barry Crane rides in the Diamond Valley Parade on June 1, 2024.

It’s one of the biggest days of the year in Diamond Valley.

The Diamond Valley Parade and Diamond Valley Family Festival take place on Saturday, June 7, promising a day of family-friendly attractions.

The day will start at Oilfields High School at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. Food is limited so early attendance is recommended.

The parade will commence at 10 a.m. in downtown Black Diamond and will showcase many popular local businesses and community organizations.

The action then moves to Turner Valley's Millennium Park, which will host the Diamond Valley Family Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival will feature kid-friendly attractions like bounce houses, petting zoo and face painting booths. Interactive sport booths await all ages such as a ninja obstacle course, archery, curling and assorted yard games.

There will also be a market featuring products from local artisans, businesses and community groups.

In addition to the goings on at Millennium Park, there will be activities elsewhere in town, including a book sale at the Sheep River Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Sheep Creek Arts Council will also be hosting a Bake Sale and Quilt Show. There will be up to 50 quilts on display from the Diamond Valley Quilt Club, while delicious baked good like cookies, pies and brownies will be on sale for patrons looking to support the community.
