Foothills residents filled the Priddis Community Hall Tuesday evening for a town hall with the Turner Valley RCMP.

The event kicked off with an annual general meeting for the High Country Rural Crime Watch.

After standard business, including financial statements and other reports, the meeting was adjourned in a record 22 minutes.

Afterwards, Staff Sgt. Don Racette and Cpl. Cory Forsyth took the stage to deliver a presentation on fraud and scams.

They highlighted common scams, including ones that have impacted Foothills residents, and how to avoid them.

The question-and-answer portion after the presentation was an opportunity for community members to voice their concerns.

The Turner Valley detachment serves Diamond Valley, Eden Valley First Nation, Hartell, Longview, Millarville, Naphtha and Priddis.
