Wheel presents cheques to Okotoks, Turner Valley Legions

The Western Wheel raised money for the Turner Valley and Okotoks Legions through a special Remembrance Day feature in the Nov. 8 issue of the newspaper.

Revenue raised by the Western Wheel is supporting Legions in Okotoks and Turner Valley.

Representatives from each Legion were presented a $350 cheque by publisher Shaun Jessome at the newspaper's office on Nov. 14.

Paul Barton, president of Turner Valley Legion #78, and Nancy Tonn, poppy chair of the Okotoks Legion #291, accepted the funds on behalf of each Legion.

The Western Wheel raised $700 from revenue generated by a special Remembrance Day feature in the Nov. 8 issue of the newspaper and split the money evenly between the two organizations.

Tonn said the Legion is always grateful for support from the newspaper.
