An iconic Turner Valley taste is gone for good.

Motoburrito, a beloved food truck known throughout the Foothills and beyond, is closing its doors after 11 years of business.

"We've had so many regulars and families and people from all over," said owner Claudette Macgregor. "Hikers, bikers, everybody came, and people are pretty sad about this."

The Tex-Mex truck, which opened in April 2013, announced its permanent closure on Wednesday, April 24 through a Facebook post.

"We're throwing in the towel," said Macgregor. "There's nothing personal or anything, it's just that we're moving on to new ventures."

While the economy has been a factor in local businesses recently closing, Macgregor said that's not the case with Motoburrito.

"I had an easy overhead, because we owned the property and stuff," she said, "but I did notice the prices of everything going up.

"It's insanely crazy and I haven't raised my prices since before COVID. I've never raised my prices. I always kept them fair. I didn't want to gouge people, you know?"

Macgregor prides herself on the impact the food truck has had on the community, including hiring young employees that had grown up going to the business.

"I've watched kids grow up since they're babies, and yeah, it was a little bit of an emotional day yesterday," she said.

Macgregor is selling the truck, but retiring the Motoburrito name for good.
