The Quest sees would-be entrepreneurs mentored by those in the business community.

The Quest, a program that aims to empower local youths by offering a comprehensive and hands-on experience in the world of business, is being made possible through the joint efforts of Community Futures Highwood, MCG Careers and Stellar Human Project.

The Quest gives youths aged 16 to 20 a unique chance to explore entrepreneurship and employment opportunities from the business owner's perspective.

Participants will gain exposure to the challenges and requirements of running a successful business and can subsequently either launch their own business while being supported by experienced entrepreneurs and business professionals or receive individualized employment coaching.

The program is actively seeking business owners interested in making a meaningful difference in the lives of youths through mentorship. Businesses willing to impart knowledge and donate their time are encouraged to join the initiative.

In addition, it welcomes sponsors to support the program.

“With this program we are excited to provide an easily accessible avenue for youth to explore entrepreneurship and offer a steppingstone towards the personal and professional development that will assist them in navigating their future,” says Community Futures executive director Ursula Sherwood.

Organizers are accepting 15 participants for the pilot program launching on March 23 that’s available to youth residing in the Community Futures Highwood service area. Interested participants can visit jointhequest.biz to apply.

Community Futures Highwood is a non-profit organization that supports rural entrepreneurs by providing a variety of affordable and free programs and services. MCG Careers provides no-cost career and employment services to Albertans over the age of 18, while the Stellar Human Project is about helping youth gain skills to reach for their dreams.
