UPDATE: RCMP suspect homicide after human remains found near Okotoks

Police seeking information from the public after 37-year-old Calgary woman found near Highway 552 and 128 Street East.

Police are seeking information from the public after the remains of a 37-year-old woman from Calgary were found near Highway 552 east of Okotoks. 

On March 30 at approximately 5 p.m., Turner Valley and Okotoks RCMP responded to a report of found human remains near the intersection of 128 Street East, between the Davisburg and Gladys Ridge areas.

The RCMP Serious Crimes Unit with the assistance of Calgary Police Service has taken over carriage of the investigation and is treating it as a homicide. 

The deceased has been identified as Tara Miller AKA Tara Mbugua.   

RCMP closed Highway 552 just east of the single-lane bridge in both directions on March 30 for an extended period of time to facilitate their investigation.  

Police are seeking information from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious near Highway 552 and 128 Street between March 29 at noon and March 30 at 5 p.m. 

Additionally, RCMP are looking to speak to individuals that knew or saw Miller in the days leading up to her death.
