Out Thanksgiving dinner and silent auction will be held on Sept. 30. You may bring your silent auction items anytime and leave them in the games room. Check out the one day writers’ seminar at the Sheep River library on Oct. 13.

Our garden club members garden tour is still a go for Aug. 19. Meet at VNC at 3 p.m. The Festival of the Arts exhibition and sale on Saturday had a lovely day for this event.

The third annual Olde Towne Show and Shine in Okotoks was a huge success judging by the amount of people it drew to the downtown core. The weather was just what the organizing committee was looking for.

I’ve survived the seven-year itch. Only my itch came after six years, and had nothing to do with my marriage. My itch was about moving to BC. It was triggered by a trip to Fairmont last July.

Who are the First Nations People? These people are a proud and intelligent race who first populated this country, but it is disturbing and shocking to see what has happened to these original inhabitants of the Western Hemisphere.

The Olde Towne Okotoks Show and Shine will take place this Sunday in downtown Okotoks. The Roaring 20s theme will have us all bobbing to the music. Organizers are hoping for the largest turnout of vehicles ever.

There’s a new revolution circling our planet and it goes by the name of “permaculture.” It’s an entirely new way of gardening, and a sustainable one at that.
